Site map is a way to communicate with search engines it helps to tell search engines to tell about the pages on your website. It is basically XML site map called as sitemap it is a list of pages on your website. Creating sitemap ensures that search engine knows how many pages are their on search engine, you can also use meta data to share more detailed information for search engine. Sitemap can be also used to to add additional data such the data it was last updated and how often you you expect page to change. Go to sitemaps.org and get updated sitemap then submit it to Google webmaster tool.

I recommend you to use atom 2.0 to submit as sitemap rather than XML file. Whenever you would add new pages in your site, you need to create XML file with links and specification to those new pages and each time you are suppose to upload it. Submitting feed 2.0 would automatically work like RSS feed and new links would be crawled automatically. Generally you need to upload it in your root folder at server and need to give that path in webmaster tool.

Look you first of need to create one sitemap.xml . Then upload it in your root directory

like xyzabc.com/sitemap.xml  then put this URL in Webmaster tools of major search engines which enables search crawlers to go through your website pages.

Google sitemap is a way to tell Google which pages of your site you want to index. You just write the url in a text document (you can do a much sophisticated by using a xml document), name it "site-map.txt" and upload it to your root directory. That way you can maintain your list of url, and if you have to submit them again, it will be easier instead of going to the Google "submit-a-link" page and do it for every url.

To add a website, you log in your Google account (or create 1 if you don't have):
- on site overview, click "add"
- select "General Web Sitemap" if you have your sitemap
- put in your url
- upload the html file you are requested to do
- when done, you can click "verify" on the "site overview"
- then you can put the url for your sitemap

Hello,

First, you'll need a Google Account to sign in (if you don't already have one). Then you'll need to prove ownership of any sites that you'd like to add sitemaps to. You can do this by uploading meta tags or a unique file to your site that they will provide. Once you are verified as the site owner, you can simply submit the URL of your XML sitemap. In addition to submitting your sitemap, this site provides a host of information including any crawl errors, pages with the highest PageRank, the top search queries for your site, and so much more.

A. Create an XML Sitemap. You can create an XML sitemap by hand, or utilize an XML sitemaps generator to do it for you.
B. Go to Google webmaster tools through Google login.
C. Add your site to Google by clicking on the "Add a Site" button. You do not require to verify the site in order to submit a sitemap for it.
D. Click on your site URL and then click on the plus-sign next to Site configuration. When it appears, click on the Sitemaps link.
E. Click on the Submit a Sitemap button and fill in the URL of your sitemap XML file. It must be stored on the site that it's mapping.
F. Google will check the sitemap and begin indexing your site as soon as it's determined the sitemap has no errors.

Nice post.  It helps search engines to crawl your site. An XML file is a lists all the URLs for a website along with the information about meta data of the website url. The metadata includes the details of date last updated, and how often the content on the page changes.

First to create XML Site map. Add it in website's root folder. When it will be confirm than submit that sitemap url to Google Webmaster Tool. So the  website's all inner pages will be indexed.
