Contextual backlinks means the link which is included in the content. Suppose you have an awesome blog. In your blog, you create a new post and make an internal or external backlink with an anchor text called **contextual backlink**. The backlink from any website slide bar, menu, submenu, footer or other comment option is not contextual backlink.

Contextual backlinks are links to external websites that are placed within the main or primary content of a web page. Contextual backlinks come naturally within content. They are not links that are placed within the navigation, sidebars, widgets, footer or ads.

A contextual link is a type of link that's usually found within the body of content and is in context with the idea surrounding the link. It can be both natural (voluntary links from other websites – ex: link bait) and artificial (manually built – ex: one of your guest posts that links back to your blog/content).
