Static routes are manually configured by a network administrator by adding in entries into a routing table, though this may not always be the case.

Static routing is a type of network routing technique. A static router provides more routing information to your router. Static routing is not a routing protocol,  it is the manual configuration of a network route, usually managed by the network administrator.
