Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or keyword phrase is found in your page content amidst all the other content. For example, if you have a Web page with exactly 100 words on it including all headlines, captions, alt text, and advertising, and you have a keyword phrase that is on the page 3 times, your keyword density is 3%:In the context of search engine optimization keyword density can be used as a factor in determining whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase.

Keyword density is the ratio of the number of keywords present in your website to the total number of words in your website expressed in percentage. For example, if your keyword is mentioned in the text 8 times, and the total number of words is 100, then the keyword density is 8 per cent.

Keyword Density can be seen as the percentage of times a keyword appears on a page when you compare it to the total number of words on the page.

To work out density of a page is simple:

A = number of times a word appears on the page

B = number of words on the page

Keyword Density = A/ B x 100

Keyword Density is the percentage of occurrence of your keywords to the text in the rest of your webpage. It is important for your main keywords to have the correct keyword density to rank well in Search Engines.
The preferred keyword density ratio varies from search engine to search engine. In general, I recommend using a keyword density ratio in the range of 2-6%.

According to me Keyword density just means the percentage that the keywords appear in the content versus rest of the text. In general, it's also a fairly useless metric for SEO. I wouldn't bother building a script for it as you'd be better off concentrating on other metrics.

Hi....Keyword density is a combination of the number of times a keyword or a keyword phrase, in proportion with other words, appears on a Web page. The more times the keyword appears in relation to the total number of on page words, the greater the overall keyword density. The more times that other words appear, the lower the proportion of keywords, resulting in a lighter keyword density.

Keyword at title, meta description, url helps to improve the search engine ranking. But keyword stuffing will cause your web page to get penalized by search engine. In a good high quality content keyword density comes naturally no need any calculation.

If your keywords do not appear on your web site enough, search engines won't list you for those words. If your density is above your competitors, it's a warning! Consider adding more text to decrease your density, or you'll be facing the risk to be considered as spamming through over-optimization and may get penalized.

Keyword density refers to how often a key phrase appears on a single web page relative to the amount of overall content. This is a ranking factor used by major search engines to "score" web pages.

HI

Keyword Density referred to as a limit which have been given by search engines to use on a web page in order to protect themselves from SPAM.

Thanks

martinsherman

Keyword density is an indicator of the number of times the selected keyword appears in the web page. But mind you, keywords shouldn't be over used, but should be just sufficient enough to appear at important places.

If you repeat your keywords with every other word on every line, then your site will probably be rejected as an artificial site or spam site.

Keyword density is always expressed as a percentage of the total word content on a given web page.

bradely

There are a lot of repetitive answers here, just keep in mind that keyword density is not everything. If the density is too high it will look like spam to Google
