Keyword density just means the percentage that the keywords appear in the content versus rest of the text. In general, it's also a fairly useless metric for SEO. I wouldn't bother building a script for it as you'd be better off concentrating on other metrics.

Keyword density is the percentage of how many times a keyword or keyword phrase is on the page content including all the other content. For example, if we have a web page with exactly 100 words on it including all headlines, captions, alt text, and advertising, and we have a keyword phrase that is on the page 3 times, your keyword density is 3%.

There is no hard and fast rule for what your keyword density should be. But too little and it won't be clear to search engines what the page is about and too much and it will look like you're trying to spam them. Plus, the more times you repeat a keyword phrase the more the page won't be palatable to your readers.

Keyword density is the number of times a keyword is used on a web page in proportion with other words. You can calculate the keyword density of a particular text as:
keyword count/ total word count * 100.

As such there is no set figure/ percentage for keyword frequency/ density..Use your keywords in such a clever fashion so that it's neither keyword stuffing nor under-usage..

Using a keyword density tool is obviously important for you to know how many times your keyword is showing inside the body of your text. Usually you want that to be around 1% and can be easily found out simply by using the tools available to you for free at article directories. Once you have pasted the body of your article inside the submission form, the system automatically tells you the density, if your article has too many keywords.

Keyword density is an indicator of the number of times the selected keyword appears in the web page. it applies to the page as it displays live on your website. Many people will create content with a high keyword density and then place it on their website with a lot of navigation, images, and advertising content and their actual density will go down.
