Hi Friends,
These terms can be used interchangeably - essentially computer programs that are used to fetch data from the web in an automated manner. They also must follow the directives mentioned in the robots.txt file present in the root directory.

A Web crawler, sometimes called a spider or spiderbot and often shortened to crawler, is an Internet bot that systematically browses the World Wide Web, typically for the purpose of Web indexing (web spidering).

Web search engines and some other sites use Web crawling or spidering software to update their web content or indices of others sites' web content. Web crawlers copy pages for processing by a search engine which indexes the downloaded pages so users can search more efficiently.

Spiders, Robots, and crawlers are the same. Google robots are the robots that crawls the website to rank and check the links of this website.

Hello,

Spiders and crawlers are responsible for indexing and retrieving results in search results of a Search Engine. Google Bot is the crawler of  Google.

Web crawlers go through web pages, look for relevant keywords, hyperlinks, and content, and bring information back to the web servers for indexing.

Robots have same functionality, you can also block a particular page of a website from crawling with the help of robots.txt file.

Spiders, robot and crawler, they are all the same and referred by different names. It is a software program that follows or "Crawls" various links throughout the internet, and then grabs the content from the sites and adds to the search engine indexes.

Also known as Robot, Bot or Spider. These are programs used by search engines to explore the Internet and automatically download web content available on web sites. Crawlers can also be used for automated maintenance tasks on a website, such as checking links or validating HTML code.
