Can anyone tell me how many keywords we should aim for to include on each web page?
It's a difficult question to answer. Google loves domain that match a phrase with content (not necessarily much of it) fairly targeted towards it.
On the other hand, if you need to PPC advertise through e.g. Adwords, your quality scores sinks unless your page contains the word/phrase.
Focus on one theme
Experiment with number of keywords (possibly try get your most wanted first and establish yourself in rankings, then start to spread out to related afterwards)
As per my seo experience,Three keywords per page will be the best for any site.I am finalizing as I suggested.
Tina.fay, selection of keywords depends on the traffic coming from it. Number of keywords various from site to site. Mostly 3-4 keywords are selected for each site.
There aren't any specific number of keywords to be included in single page. The point to be consider is keywords density in page content.
There really isn't a set number of keywords to include on each page. Just a general rule of thumb is to include one keyword or phrase per every 100 words or so of copy. Be sure to read your content out loud and ensure it makes sense with your keywords included. You don't want it to not read well or keyword stuff.
I suggested you, shouldn't more than 4to5 keywords for a page, and the density of keyword must be 6%.
Hey there no number been yet decided how much keyword been used in a particular page. There a on page feature known as keyword density is should be checked means if you are targeting a keyword for a particular web page then check the density of that particular keyword means if your web page is contain total 100 word then your keyword density should be 2 to 3%. If your web page contain 200 word then it should be 3 to 4%.
As per my SEO knowledge and experience 2 to 4 keyword for each page.
There is no perfect number or magic percentage. Just keep in mind that your text has to have a natural flow. The visitor should be able to read it and understand it easily, because after all you should build your website for the visitors, the human beings. Google doesn't keep track of the keyword density (unless you are stuffing) so you can calmly concentrate on the quality of your content.

The best approach is to use not more then 4 targeted keywords on one web page. Also there should not be keyword stuffing.

I am not sure but at list one should be..
There are some tools which say how many keywords you'd have into the "Meta keywords" tag. But this is not that important as long as you do put thousands of them. The best you can do is to correctly describe the words and phrases you have used in your web page in its "Meta keywords" tag. Trust me, this is the best approach to creating a keyword tag!
its depends what you have on your page.......i have website i have only target 5 keywords for the main home page. it varies in different figures, depending upon the content you have in the page.
If you bid on just 1-5 keywords, imagine how much easier it is to make 1-5 relevant adverts and landing pages which get you a higher quality score. Imagine how much easier it is to test and track your campaigns to make improvements. Imagine how much more exposure and clicks your ads will get on your budget. Simplicity really is the key.
It depends upon your demand that how many keywords you want to target and how many pages you have... but in general we can target maximum 3-4 keywords on a page.... and the keyword density in that particular page should be 3-5%....

I think 3-4 keywords are good enough.
it depends, i think 5-10 should be good
I use my keywords and other thing in Google's Standard limit like
Title= 65-70 characters (about 3-4 keywords)
Meta Description= max 160 characters (about 1-2 lines using my targeted keywords)
Meta Keywords= max 150 characters(about 8-10 keywords)
This is not the period of stuffing keywords in your content; you should just focus on content intention towards visitors, then you can add 3 to 5 keywords in your content; make sure to add the keyword in the heading also!
While the exact number of keywords you should target on each page depends on a lot of factors, including your budget, you can start by aiming for about five keywords, especially if you are a small business.
You should focus on two to three keywords for each page as a bare minimum. This includes one main keyword and two closely related queries. If you can focus on more keywords while making the content sound natural, then try to optimize for more SEO keyword variations.
3 to 4 keywords should be aim to include on each web page.
