Till now you all must be aware of SEO and SEM. These are two different things. or I say, SEO is just a part of SEM. So m,y question is that do you think you can have a challenging and good career in SEO only or you have to switch to SEM if you want to be in this industry for long?? I am in delima and your help. Please share your thoughts.

SEO means a way through which we could promote our site. And SEM is also a process to improve the serp ranking.SEO is an part of SEM.

SEO is used for doing organic optimisation.While for branding purpose SEM is used.I think we can have challenging future in seo.As in future seo techniques may change depending on the search engine algorithm.

If you want quick business so SEM would be great way or if you have patience then SEO would be best to increase organic business.

immediate results = SEM long term resutls = SEO

Just like a body without a heart , a SEM without SEO cannot exist. remember that.

According to me the SEO is better affective than SEM. SEO is search engine optimization and it helps to any web site to increase its page rank and get the backlinks. So, SEO is better than SEM.

Both are effective and useful. But We can't get suspicious result by SEM activities. While SEO is one of the source through which we can generate potential customers to our sites. Most of the online marketers recommending for SEO instead of SEM.

SEO provides a cheaper long term solution for increased qualified traffic and generates customer inquiries that ultimately convert to sales. Now SEM is broader than SEO. It includes SEO and other areas to improve a sites visibility in search engine results pages, like paid listings and paid inclusions. You can think of SEM as more expensive and quite possibly more targeted, while SEO is free (not counting your time of course) and its purpose is to obtain better free search listings. Personally, I would start with SEO and then move onto SEM.

Concentrate more on seo i.e 4 hours per day
Concentrate Less on SEM i.e 1 hour per day


SEO is organic Traffic
SEM is inorganic Traffic

In starting , I  love only seo, but according to demand I also go beyond to it.

SEO is the way you make your site to the top of search engine. SEM is a the practice of using Search Engine traffic as a primary source of visitors, through organic optimization and paid advertising.

Seo is a small portion of SEM and if you want to excell your career in this field, you have to be master of both. Especially SEM is a vast field and you can be very highly paid job.

SEO should get a good volume of traffic and convert visitors to potential operators. SEM is the traders to buy their products and services directly. SEM includes PPC, social network marketing, SEO and larger sites, etc need to include EMS in their plans, while small companies can get away with just SEO.

SEO and SEM are the marketing tools.SEO is mainly for to get the traffic to the website and the SEM is refereed to as a promotion online.However SEO is one of the the SEM tactic.

SEM is one of paid way to get traffic while, SEO is the best option to create organic traffic to site. According to me, freshers would go for SEO techniques because of it's affordable way to create buzz in the market.

According to me both SEO and SEM are important.
SEO is important to get organic and free traffic which will take time.
SEM is paid traffic so, you will do paid campaign, create paid ads to get traffic quickly.
For fresher who does not want to pay money for getting traffic they can go for SEO.
In the company want more traffic then they can go to SEM because they wants quick result.

Agree! Unfortunately, the SEO has nothing to do more with SEM, but SEM can help SEO to increase the brand awareness and gain more traffic of the optimized websites.

Really? SEM means Search Engine Marketing and it has nothing to do with ranking. It means paid, so SEM is the process to boost the site traffic by running paid ads and it does not help you in the ranking.
