301 redirect is the most efficient and Search Engine Friendly method for webpage redirection. It's not that hard to implement and it should preserve your search engine rankings for that particular page. If you have to change file names or move pages around, it's the safest option. The code "301" is interpreted as "moved permanently".

A 302 redirect means that the move is only temporary. Search engines need to figure out whether to keep the old page, or replace it with the one found at the new location.

301 and 302 both are used for redirecting the one page on another webpage only difference is 301 redirection used for Permanent redirection and 302 redirection used for temporary redirection.

The response of server 301 means that this page  is permanently moved on other location and the server response 302 means that the page is temporary moved on other location
