Title: Benefit of Nofollow
Post by: MikeDermot on January 27, 2012, 06:57:56 AM

Well, if you include nofollow in link building then it would make natural links to your site and natural links are needed for higher ranking in search engines, building only dofollow links on high pr is suspicious in the eyes of search engines.

It's fine, no such thing, it's been proven in studies that all do follow would work just as well and I have seem it myself on couple link buyers on ecommerce sites. But it's fine, some outdated search engines still count no follow links.

Many peoples do think that nofollow link is no benefits at all. However, I think there is some benefits you might not think about it.

1. Googlebots do still follow that nofollow link to see and analyze the linking pattern. Only no positive link score being given.
2. It could help your link profile balanced. Is it possible for having 100% dofollow links? Many forums do auto nofollow attached with any links posted in threads and if your website being referred then it would get nofollow link. The 100% dofollow links for a long period of time does not seems legit to me personally.

Totally agree with you MikeDermot. Nofollow links are the links which tells the search engine that the link should not effect the target ranking.
1) It helps in driving visitors traffic to your website.
2) As it is nofollow link, search engine still follow it and also index relevant page of the website.
3) Getting only dofollow backlinks from high PR site become suspicious task, so it is better to get some nofollow.
4) Nofollow link does not hurt your website and does not impact to your keyword ranking.

HI
NO-follow link only help on increasing the traffic for the website, but didn't pass the link juice, so its wont help in the rankings.

Besides I have noticed that Google think some of nofollow link to be backlinks to your site. Try to make an advanced search and you'll see.

Nofollow links essentially expensive for the website in visitor point of view. And one more significant thing that if you have the nofollow links with site content then your site content surly will crawled by the crawler and its make a advantage for the site.

Hi,
Thanks a lot all of you for giving the important information on no-follow links. Initially in the time of doing seo I thought that no-follow links have no benefit in seo. But now I realize that it has some benefits as well.
