A reciprocal link is an agreement between two webmasters to provide a hyperlink within their own website to each other's site. Generally this is done to provide readers with quick access to related sites, or to show a partnership between two sites.

Reciprocal links are links between two sites that have been created and link to each other because they cover similar topics or provide complementary goods or services or find that it helps to link to each other for the benefit of their visitors.

Reciprocal linking occurs when two or more parties link to each other on their respective sites. For example, site A wants to boost page X's search engine ranking for a target keyword. Site A would then reach out to site B proposing that they exchange links.
