Title: Sudden drop in bounce rate
Post by: nelson1 on March 07, 2012, 06:54:08 AM
Hi there
I noticed a sudden drop in bounce rate of my website from 52% to 6%.
What could be the possible reason behind this ? Its good for my website but i am confused about the drastic change.
Help me to find the reason behind this. Thanks

Bounce rate is the percentage of single-page visits or visits in which the person left your site from the entrance (landing) page. Use this metric to measure visit quality – a high bounce rate generally indicates that site entrance pages aren't relevant to your visitors.
The more you can lower or reduce your bounce rate, the more opportunity you will have to convert your site visitors. This is extremely important from a conversion optimization standpoint.
As you are saying the bounce rate for your site is lower down then it really very much beneficial for your site as from this now you can get quality traffic...

That's nice, congrats! I hope you had  the analytics code installed on all the pages of your website (that can help you better). General possibilities are:

-You reduced your page loading speed (by optimizing videos, images or cutting out Flash)
-You have included good quality content
-You have made site navigation easier
-You have highlighted your best posts above the fold by cutting out ads that interfered with site navigation.

High bounce rate is not good for your website, you should consider making your site's design appealing so that visitors would stay on your site, this would help in managing bounce rate I would say.
