Hey, you are trying to use HTML in your signature. As explained in this forum thread (and elsewhere), you have to use bbcode.

(You may need to remove your old signature first before entering new one.)

You can't insert use the URL bb-code?

I will have to ask at the SMF forum then because this forum has been configured to allow the bbcode url (all others not allowed currently)

Update #1

Found a SMF forum post from January 2012 describing a similar issue about a  bug in SMF

I have tried allow a few more bbcodes now (e.g. "u") to see if that solves the problem with the "url" bbcode
