Title: Google penalize search over optimization (Penguin update)
Post by: Black Ninja on May 03, 2012, 08:17:19 AM
QuoteGoogle is making a change to its search algorithm to penalize what the company's head of Web spam called "over-optimization" and instead favor websites with high-quality content and less refined search-engine optimization.

My one site also affected by these changes. My lots of keywords ranked on first page. But now they rank on 3-4 pages in Google. I do not know, what happened, but I have lost all keyword ranking as well as traffic. I have never used any technique to optimization my site. Have some faced this problem? I want to recover from this problem. Please suggest...

This might get you started

Anyhow, it seems a lot has to do with anchor text backlink diversity + the niche/topic of the sites/pages those links are placed on.

However, Google's algorithm is not perfect because there has been many examples in media that truly empty-content sites have ranked having what appears to be a spammy, but diversified anchor text, backlink profile:

That said, the average user will probably not notice those things and continue be happy with the search results Google provides.

I have no recommendations at this point except reading the above mentioned URLs. If anyone else knows of links to in-depth articles like above, do please share them, so we can discuss and learn from them :)

Definitely give penalty to over optimized websites is now not a myth but been a reality. Google has begun war against over optimized websites and get them out.

After google panda update google comes up with new webspam google penguin update.it is an over-optimising penalty that focuses on trying to stop low quality websites from appearing towards the top of high quality sites.

Thanks Dear,
I greatly appreciate your replay and thanks again to share above informative links.
But, after penguin update, Google also updated page rank. My website page was 0 before page rank update and now my all website pages have page rank 3. I am continuing working on my site but there are no any improvements in keywords ranking. All keywords rank on 3-4 pages in Google. I am losing website traffic day by day.... What to do next?

I think it is bestt to think of it like this:
* onpage scoring
* backlink scoring (page rank)
* trust score (e.g. if pages hooked up to Google+ profile)
* onpage quality filter (panda)
* offpage quality filter (penguin)

So you can increase in Google PageRank, but at the same time hit by Penguin. I still don't have any good suggestions to pass on, but if I learn anything, I will post them here :)

Google has recently targeted some linking schemes and as a result a number of bodies suffered a loss of traffic. The search engine also issued warnings pertaining to sites with artificial or unnatural links.

The most probable reason for that would be that your links were not quality backlinks or your contents might have been poorly written. Link building schemes could also cause that. Which among the above-mentioned bad strategies do you think you used?

You have the liberty to create as many links you want but google wants them all to be quality links. It will penalyze you if don't follow the guidelines.

It is where you optimize a particular keyword. concentrate on all other keywords and rank them.
