I think that it is just because of GOOGLE PLUS . if you have a account in google plus than you profile picture is comes in your search result.

Right by joining of Google+ you can use profile and avatar with search results.

Some person provides really helpful answer here.

If you join in Google+, your profile automatically display in search result.

Google can pick your image form google+, LinkedIn, twitter and from many other profiles

This is just because of Google plus profile.
