Back in 2007 I wrote a very personal blog post (http://www.microsystools.com/articles/avoid-red-and-sore-eyes-computer-monitor-problems/) about what was and still is to some degree a major problem that for years almost hindered me in my passion, my work, my life... Programming computer software. The original problem actually dated to around year 2000 and the blog post was about how to win and overcome constant bloody red and sore eyes. That red and sore eyes (http://www.microsystools.com/articles/avoid-red-and-sore-eyes-computer-monitor-problems/) blog post today has 40 comments and still new trinkle in.
It is my continued goal to bring awareness to this problem as knowledge even today is limited among eye doctors (back in year 2000 I was real lucky the 3rd I consulted would even entertain the idea that computer screens all day long could put a strain on and dry the eyes)
Please feel free to also share you experience here regarding red and dry eyes!
Wonderful blog post.
Came to know many people are having the same problem as that of mine.
I have to work on computer for 8 hrs, because of which my eyes not get red but become so dry.
So would like to know some tips over it.
Indeed. But besides eye problems one could also suffer from repetitive motion injury to hands, neck/spinal injury (because of bad posture), dehydration (you literally forget to drink water - coffee is not a substitute for it either) and mental health issues, including especially addiction.
You are correct. I know :( Hereby launching a new forum thread:
neck, spine, carpal tunnel and muscle problems (http://webhelpforums.com/index.php/topic,518.msg1196.html)
This thread will remain about discussing red/sore eyes caused by monitor/screen computer work :)
But feel free to start new threads about topics that somehow can relate to IT/computer work!
Very nice and useful information.
Thanks for sharing.
