alt tag is very important for the image/s, because it describe what the image is all about.

Alt tag is an html attribute use on images for search engine purpose. On the other hand, it is not mainly important for search engines but most especially for visually impaired people. Alt tags will be very helpful.

Let's get this right: alt tag helps your image rank in Google Image search result. It does not have so much effect in google web search ranking. But it's always better to include alt tag in your image than leave it blank. It helps Google have a better understanding of your image and surrounding content. Remember not to stuff your keyword inside image alt tag though. It may hurt your SEO effort!
