Title: Anyway to launch menu from somewhere other than the system tray?
Post by: Pulse on July 30, 2011, 02:08:20 AM
I've just found Launcher and it looks interesting, however, I'd rather have the option to invoke the launcher menu from a location other than the system tray. As an example, I currently use a very old program called ShortPopUp (http://www.digitallis.co.uk/pc/ShortPopUp/) which continues to server well, even under Windows 7 x86/x64. The beauty of this program, is that I can have the menu load from virtually any location. I currently use it from a dock. Would something similar be possible with launcher?

Thanks

There's a keyboard shortcut as well. (See options.) I have received a few suggestions about this from more people, but I am interested in hearing more :) Do you want it as a right click shell extension? I personally don't like having applications integrate too much with Windows Shell, but if it's something users and customers want, then I am all for at least investigating the possibility :)

Thanks for the reply :)

I'm probably in a minority but what I'd personally like, is the ability to place the launcher executable as a dock item, which, when clicked, would open the menu. Right now, the first time launcher is invoked it places a icon in the system tray. The second time, the 'Manage items' window is opened. I've included an image, which gives an idea of what I'm after.
