I recently lost all my date and programs on my computer. Before that, when I clicked the activation keys, a small window would appear showing only the folders and programs I had entered in Launcher. Now, with a new download and installation, the activation keys bring up a window that says 'Launcher Menu'. I click on that, then get a list of options, one of which says 'Manage Items.' I click on that, then get the window from which I can launch my program. I'd like the original behavior: just a list of folders and programs. How can I accomplish that?

I am guessing you are referring to the keyboard shortcut CTRL+L
You can launch your shortcuts directly from the menu. (Which is why it is why the menu is brought up giving direct access to all your shortcuts just above the "Manage items" menu item.)
Since you are not seeing the shortcuts, it probably means you have no shortcuts defined. (Which makes sense since, as you wrote, you have lost all your date and programs on your computer?)
