Title: Launcher Pro: Shortcuts and parameters
Post by: rah on April 11, 2010, 03:33:52 PM
I would like to use shortcuts created by the program Roboform in Launcher. However, when I move the shortcut into Launcher, it does not work correctly. Instead of opening a website and then automatically logging in, the shortcut launches Roboform and behaves as though I want to edit the shortcut itself.

If I look at the Roboform shortcut itself, the target line is "C:\Documents and Settings\rah\My Documents\My RoboForm Data\rah\Home\Garmin.rfp" -l. I believe the problem is that Launcher won't allow any parameters for non-exe shortcuts.

Is there a workaround for this?

I will try take a look and get back to you with either a work around or solution/improvement in software :)

Hi,

Next version of Launcher will add .rfp files to the list that can accept parameters etc.
I guess I may need to grow the list quite substantially in the feature as requests come in.

Thanks for letting me know of the issue and sorry for the delay in answering :(

Hi,

I just downloaded and tried the beta. It works with Roboform shortcuts without issue.

I used drag and drop to move the Roboform shortcut into Launcher. When I did that, the icon associated with the shortcut displayed correctly. However, after saving and closing "Manage Items", the icon disappeared. I suspect Launcher only looks at executables for icons and doesn't use file associations.

Off topic: Is there a way to setup e-mail notifications for updates to messages? I would have responded earlier if I'd known you'd posted back.

Thanks.

When replying, you can click "Additional Options" and check option "Notify me of replies"

I will look into the Launcher issue you describe concerning the icon.
(For some types of files it will try extract and store icon. For others it will just use generic icon for the file type)
