Title: Shortcut key not working
Post by: lloyde12000 on December 23, 2013, 04:30:51 PM
I'm using Launcher on an Acer laptop with Windows 7.  None of the shortcut keys call up Launcher from the  system tray. I've used it on other computers with Windows 7 and it worked perfectly. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I have heard of this issue before, but never found out the cause. Here are some snippets from a customer who almost/kinda found a solution:

My guess right now is Office. I've recently installed Windows 8 and have
been installing all software that I need and that is quite a lot. It's hard
to be sure what program that causes it.

I know that setting a keyboard shortcut on a
windows shortcut works. I've tried creating one to Launcher.exe with
keyboard shortcut SHIFT+CTRL+Q and that works. It shows Launcher but in
Manage Items mode and without focus. As I said it would save my day right
now :-)

Managed to create a workaround after all. After struggling a bit with
autohotkey I managed to get it to display the Launcher menu. Not a good one
but it semi works.

Thanks for the suggestions. I realize that the difference between using Launcher before and using it now is that before, I had Windows 7, Home edition, and now I have Windows 7, Professional edition. I've pinned it to the taskbar, and when I click on the icon, I get just the programs list. That's good enough to be quite useful, but I miss the shortcut key.
