Title: Windows 7 How to put Control Panel in Launcher
Post by: pauledgarm on May 31, 2010, 04:16:20 AM
Launcher will not accept this path.   I am guessing because there is no backslash after explorer.exe

C:\Windows\explorer.exe shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Please advise

Hi,

I will look into making a tutorial regarding having Launcher in Control Panel / Notification area in Windows 7. It does actually work fine for me, but Windows 7 changed default behavior to hide programs in notification area. It is possible I do not have a sufficient good solution yet if Launcher still appears hidden for some :(

It seems I got confused in my earlier response. You can already now add .cpl files into Launcher. (Will get default icon though)
And control panel itself is just dragging in a normal Windows control panel shortcut into Launcher, and it will work.

This link works for me in Windows 7:
Declare FILE item ...

• Name
CONTROL_PANEL

• Path
C:\Windows\Explorer.exe

• Params
shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Instantly pops up hundreds of 'All Tasks' — good luck!
