Windows 7 Shortcut for System Configuration

I want to create a Launcher entry for the "System Configuration" app in Windows 7. I navigate to C:\windows\system32 and locate the msconfig.exe file. I can double-click to launch it from Windows Exploer.

I drag and drop it on to Launcher and an entry is created with C:\windows\system32msconfig.exe. However, the icon from the msconfig.exe file does not appear with the entry and launching it does nothing.

Can it be done?

Regarding the path, you probably meant "C:\windows\system32\msconfig.exe"

But I can duplicate your problem :(

Seems the icon is not extracted successfully and that "Launch" does not work on msconfig.exe for some odd reason.

I will need some time to investigate this :)

One good thing already came out of this. Because the image extraction fails in an unusual way, I was *finally* after many years able to discover and reproduce a bug concerning an image index out of range. (The bug would first manifest itself when user saved the changes.) I have had that bug reported now and then, but noone ever been able to tell me how to reproduce it :)

Regarding the msconfig.exe issue it seems related to:

A peculiar WoW64 32/64 bit applications issue. I will need more time :)
