As far as SEO is concerned, what is more important- linking or content? I believe content plays a crucial role in driving traffic to your site. Everyone tells me to have unique, keyword-rich content on my site. They tell me if I am not able to produce this content, I should hire the services of professional SEO writers. Also, what are the advantages of linking? What exactly is linking and how can it bring you traffic.

You need both. Good content alone is most often not enough to go viral and later top the search engines.

• Research keywords relevant to your products (e.g. using Google Adwords external tool)
• Create content around those keywords including "long tails" (search queries with added words)
• Try get varied backlinks to your content (forums, link exchange with related sites, rss feeds, directory and article submission, asking for links, blog comments etc.)

Bonus is if your domain name (exactly) match the keywords you need to rank for

Content is more important than links in SEO. Without quality content it is almost impossible to get a top position in SERP. Quality content attract natural links to your website. So you don't need to worry much about link building but the content should be extremely good. 

Whenever you are doing any blog posting to your platform it is always recommended to link the new update with others on your site. What you want to do is determine a relevance between the new entry with any others formerly posted. This helps viewers navigate your platform much easier when seeking additional information they might have otherwise overlooked! In addition search engines will find it much easier to navigate the site and the more relevancy they find between and amongst varying updates, the higher your ranking!

Create a great content and people would love your blog and maybe even make a link to that page. - Organic links which is good for your website.
Creating back links are also good as this would help people to find your website.
So this means you need a combination of good content and strategically placed back links to have a successful internet marketing campaign.

Content Link Blocks are different than links within Text Blocks. You can use text link s to direct visitors to any URL , either on your site or elsewhere. Text links are great ways to reference another page in body text without taking up too much space. Content Link Blocks only link to another page on the same site.

Both of them are equally important. One is incomplete without the other. It is like a game of Tennis which requires two players essentially for a match. Linking building and content both go hand in hand. Either building links without strong and engaging content or developing high quality content but not an effective kink building strategy, both are a failure.
