Hi Friends,

Spiders, robot, and crawler, they are all the same and referred by different names. It is a software program that follows or "Crawls" various links throughout the internet, and then grabs the content from the sites and adds to the search engine indexes.

Spiders, Bots and Web-crawlers all mean the same thing. They are automatic programs which go through every website.

They perform their actions in different steps:

First, they crawl any site. (It takes around 4-weeks on average to crawl the entire web).
They download the content on their specific servers.
They index the content( with the help of other tools) according to Keywords.
They are very complex, programs with proprietary algorithms.

Spiders, Robots and Crawlers all are same these are automated software programme search engine use to stay up to date with web activities and finding new links and information to index in their database.
