Here are some points to improve your forum posting,
1. Read the forums rules and guidelines before posting for the first time.

2. Search the other posts to see if your topic is already covered.

3. Use a meaningful title for your thread.

4. Do not use a forum to promote your product, service or business.

5. Be civil. Personal differences should be handled through email or IM and not through posts displayed to everyone.

The forums are very useful and I get all answers from this and the above mentioned tips are very useful.

Do not ever post like: "Nice Post", "Nice sharing", "Thank you for posting" etc... These types of answer shows as spam. For getting maximum you have to post really interesting and informative stuff. Try get links from low obl sites.

You really mention right things to use forums. But one more thing that, some people post irrelevant to the thread. and some time divert attention to another issue which was not addressed in the thread. So, people should keep themselves from such habit.

The tips are as bellow:

1. Don't use others thread for private conversation.
2. Don't ask a question in the new reply.
3. Give the reply regarding to the thread.
4. Read all the rules and regulation before reply to the Forums.
5. Don't use black hat SEO technique in the Forum posting.

Some tips from my side are:
- don't spam the forum by irrelevant replies
- don't repeat the already covered topics
- do 'on the topic' replies
- if you don't know the answer, please don't write for the sake of signatures
- avoid number of 'Thanks for sharing' replies
