The year in which seo evolved was around 1990 to 1993. It mean seo is about 22 or 25 years old.

Thank you for the information but even though it was introduced 20-25 years ago,it is more popular from last few years i guess.

I agree with Bob, Yahoo came before Google but still Google is more popular than Yahoo and that too from 2005.

Infoseek was founded in 1994 - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infoseek
Altavisa was founded in 1995 - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altavista

Those are some of the oldest popular search engines
