most of the times, the signature links in forums are not related to the site.
So the backlink from signature doesn't gives much benefit to the sites.

Well, the links (including signature) at this forum are still dofollow, so they will give some link juice. But of course it will be better for many reasons if your links are closely related in theme. If for nothing else that the other forum participants are more likely to be interested and click them :)

i don't think signature in forums is not a time wast because due to signature u create back link of your website. Due to this visibility and credit ratting of your website increases which help you to increase traffic to your website. So signature in forum posting is not a time waste.
