Yes, definitely.

Yoast SEO is always good for on-site WordPress plugin, but it is still just a part of the picture. The main thing, of course, is to provide great content. It's also helpful to make sure your WP theme is written in valid semantic HTML and that you maintain that in your posts.

For example, Use headers such as H2, H3, etc. rather than larger bold type in paragraphs for headlines and subheads.

Also, use alt text for images and assign posts to the appropriate categories and tags.

You can submit your XML sitemap to Google Webmaster tool.

YES! Yoast SEO is the best and very effective as the SEO purpose. Yoast is good for on-site SEO, but it is still just a part of the picture. The main thing of course is to provide great content.
