Facing a small problem please advise me what should be done in this situation?
Client has given some keywords but all the keywords are not targeting the main page but some of them are coming in search with inner pages of website. So to target all the keywords for home page do I have to start the SEO from the first step?

If you place keywords in home page with out any description its waste so put the relevant keywords in the inner pages also and do SEO for that pages then it will be very beneficial.

I think you should post your keywords on the homepages meta tags first, then from there start doing link building. but There is nothing wrong with keyword which targeting inner pages too.

I would like ti suggest you that, put an inbound link or anchor text from the landing pages of those keywords to the main page of the website, rather than starting from zero.

It Is ok to focus on your key terms with inner pages of your website instead of targeting all key terms on webpage of the website. It is good practice to focus on medium very competitive key terms on inner pages and high very competitive on webpage.

Try to target your keyword to the inner page first because if your inner page goes high it will raise whole set high but there is no use if your home page ranks high and inner page goes down. So, give your full focus to inner pages.

Keyword is really important especially if you start SEO works because keyword will help you build links and generate traffic.
