According to me both are the best strategy of internet marketing. SEO is the element of SEM. SEO is the process of improving the visibility of the website in search engine via natural or organic search results whereas SEM is the act of marketing a website through the use of paid inclusion and contextual advertising. SEM includes SEO.
In simple words, SEO is free and SEM is paid. SEM includes both SEO and PPC.
i think about that SEM - Search Engine Marketing is all that can be done to use the technology of search engines with the objective of promotion website and increasing its traffic and business.
search engine optimization is the best for me as it doesn't require money to start you can do seo of your blog as well, you can use Adsense for earning money and you can earn great money.....
