Time on page is the metric that helps understand how users are engaging with your content by showing how much time a user spends on a particular page.

Time on page = Time at second hit – Time at first hit ("Hit" being a page load or action trigger)

It is basically the amount of time all visitors spend on a particular page of a website.

The time-on-page for a web page is calculated by the time difference between the point when a person lands on the page and when they move on to the next one. Clicking a link to go to another page in the website is the trigger that causes the time spent on the earlier page to be calculated.
