I believe the biggest challenge for writing articles that are optimized for search engines is balancing the demands of the search engine with the needs of the reader.

-In order to rank, you need to have your keyword in specific places and make sure that the density is not too high, nor too low. However, sometimes, in order to make a piece readable by a human, you need to find a workaround these rules.
-The next challenge I've found is the keyword research itself. It can be an ever-shifting process. And ranking is rarely something that happens overnight. Clients want to rank now, but it may take six months to a year to get there.
