What is a good bounce rate for SEO?
As a rule of thumb, a bounce rate in the range of 26 to 40 percent is excellent. 41 to 55 percent is roughly average. 56 to 70 percent is higher than average, but may not be cause for alarm depending on the website. Anything over 70 percent is disappointing for everything outside of blogs, news, events, etc.
Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors to a particular website who navigate away from the site after viewing only one page. It can be reduced by:
Good content update
Internal links
Easy navigation
Quick loading of webpage
In principle, we try to have a low bounce rate. A low bounce rate means (schematically) that the user is satisfied with the content and the proposed page and continues to browse.
It is a little simplistic and to relativize according to the sites. A weather site, for example, will have a very high bounce rate and that's normal. A page that answers the user's question will also have a high bounce rate. Conversely, a site where you have to connect requires the display of several pages and therefore a very low bounce rate.
