What is cross link
If one have their Sub domain and interlinked to domain web pages to get ranked high in Google Ranking ,is kind of Cross linking.
I think this seems like reciprocal linking.... This is happened when a group of domains that are most often owned by the same individual inner link to each other and this is just because of increasing link popularity and getting higher ranking in search engine.
Cross linking is harmful and is one of black-hat techniques.The terms come true when Same domain used to linking to their website ,Not talking About Interlinking.If a website owner Get a sub-domain and use it for post blogs or some content with Linked its main domain back-links in getting exposures with ranking is cross linking.Excessive use of cross linking may be harmful.

cross linking happens when you have 2 or more sites and you link many pages from your sites to one another.

If you cross link websites simply to manipulate search engine results to gain rankings the search engines they are going to pick up on that very quickly and penalize your website. Once your website is penalized it could takes months to get it back to where it once was.Avoid Cross linking....:)

It is kind of reciprocal links. Nowadays google not gives importance to reciprocal links. For increasing ranking and page rank we have to get quality one way links.
