What is first link priority in SEO?

The first link Priority states that when a page links more than once to the same target url, Google will ignore all the other links after the first one.

Hi Friend,
when a google search engine starts crawling a website and finds 2 links pointing to the same site/page either Internal or External it will always consider the first link and ignores the second link, this is the way how google ensure the website owners do not lash out the search engine bots with more number of similar links pointing to the same page.

The "first link priority" rule is Google's way of making sure a webmaster doesn't add hundreds of anchor text links into the content of their website. Basically, when the search engine spider crawls a page on your website and comes across two links pointing to the same page, it will only consider the anchor text of the first link and disregard the second. While this rule has been well documented by many SEOs, there seems to be some confusion on whether or not this rule applies to the navigation menu of a website.
