Hi Friends,
Page speed in SEO refers to the speed in which a page is loaded. Better load times (closer to zero seconds) are preferred by search engines over load times that take many seconds. Faster pages are said to have an increased potential of ranking highly for search queries compared to slower pages.
The reason Google rewards fast websites is that it wants its users to associate their search engine with findings answers to the queries as fast as possible. As long as Google can get everyone to be happy about the results they provide, the people will continue using Google, and they will be able to keep selling their ads.
Page speed is important to users because, well, faster pages are more efficient. Per a recent Kissmetrics infographic, if a page takes longer than 3 seconds to load, over a quarter of users will click away.
