I would Like to know that what is the purpose of googlebot?

Basically google bot is a algorithm of googel that search your website and crawl it. It is also called a google spider.

To index a webpage Google uses the Googlebot software. Caching, Crawling and indexing of a webpage are done through Googlebot by collecting details from that webpage.

And the data will be stored in data bases and when asked a query, the data will be retrieved from the data base.

First the Googlebot crawl all the web pages available in internet (WWW), after crawling the webpages the google algorithms are applied on webpage to show the query result in search engine result page. The starting of displaying result in Google SERP starts with Googlebot, and we can say that it have a big role in SEO.
