when SEO was started and how it was started anyone have any idea about it???
Back in the very old days with infoseek, hotbot, altavista etc. it was pretty easy to influence search engine results with search engine optimization of content :)
It was not till 1996 when the concept of SEO arose. Studies where approached in US higher and enhanced than that of SEO, what exactly it is today. The Internet and its utility across worldwide was just at small pace where as the downloading of websites was a time takers at 56k modem. The commercialized Internet connectivity was just a bud in UK. Internet had no air and evolution till 1996, it was considered at small level. In 1996-97, the only search engine that was famous and known was Alta Vista, Google was not known and not used like Alta Vista, and it was only at very narrow concept. It was the time when the google was thought nothing and today google is the only source that eyes seek for.
SEO was started since Google was just a tiny site that managed by some guys in the U.S. Now Google is a giant, and SEO needs to follow Google.
Very good question kingage21. SEO is now implemented in each and every company, millions companies round the world are providing SEO service; but I guess no one ever tried to know when SEO was first implemented, why it was started and how !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)

It was started by Danny Sullivan. Danny Sullivan is newspaper reporter, one day he saw the web and he was liked then now he decided to leave newspaper and start working with a developing websites. Now after some times one of his first clients asked why they were not ranking tops, that time Danny Sullivan finding the information about the search engines and after that he decided to create search engine watch in 1996.
1996 was the year when there were very less number of website, thanks for this information
