Both have their own importance!!

Adwords is more immediate than SEO since you can create advertising campaigns almost instantly and start getting targeted traffic while with SEO you need a lot more time (especially for new websites) to get good rankings and traffic.

SEO (organic traffic) can get you more traffic than Google AdWords, so if you can manage to rank your website for the keywords you want, you will get much more traffic than paying for those keywords. ... So, if you compare traffic and cost of first page positions for SEO traffic and Google AdWords traffic, organic traffic is better.
