How well does A1 sitemap generator work with wordpress?

No problem at all. If you want, there's also a a preset available optimized for WordPress.

(If your WordPress is already using correct usage of noindex, canonical etc. then the preset is not necessary.)

You can also combine the WordPress preset with e.g. video sitemap preset.
