Since I started my hosting, one thing that I haven't stopped doing is looking for niche related, high quality backlinks. We all know how essential this is to SEO.

I came up with a couple tips and tricks that you guys can use to.

#1 Google

This is the easiest way to find domains relevant to your niche. Here is a string to find .edu websites.

<city-name> + College/university + site:.edu

Check to see if they have a partners, or local businesses listing and see if you can get yours listed. One method I have seen, but not tried, is offering a scholarship, creating the scholarship page on your website, then emailing universities your scholarship link. Most universities have a scholarship listing, you don't have to fork up tons of cash either.

#2 Your own customers

See if you can get your customers to add an "powered by myhost" anchor tag to their website in return for something.

#3 Other web hosts

Reach out to other web hosts, maybe hosts that don't offer a service that you do. Exchange links and you both benefit. Now you may not want to link out to your local competition. But since most of us are not marketing in the exact same place, it is mutually beneficial to link out to other web hosts.

#4 CloudFlare Partner

If you haven't became a partner with CloudFlare already, you should. Their cPanel plugin is free and once you get 20 sites using it they post your company logo and logo on their partners page. CloudFlare is a huge domain authority and their partner page is pumped full of web hosting sites. A great backlink to have with minimal work.
