I want to add some points:
- create a profile
- maintain the profile by updating it
- add new friends and make groups
- inform/distribute about the stories you are having in the profile.

Thank you for these pointers. Another thing I wanted to add that seems to get neglected is to be sure to interact with your friends, viewers, fans, ect. The more you converse with people the higher your reputation will get.
