Crawling means that Googlebot looks at all the content/code on the page and analyzes it. Indexing means that the page is eligible to show up in Google's search results.

Crawling and indexing are two different things and this is generally misunderstood in the SEO industry. Crawling means that Googlebot views all of the content/code on a page and analyzes it. Indexing means that the page is eligible to appear in Google search results. They are not mutually inclusive.
