The basic difference between do follow and no follow tags is that using do follow links and tags helps search engine crawl the website easily  whereas using a no follow tag is an attribute which instructs the search engines that a hyperlink should not influence the target pages of link targeted. The main purpose of no follow tags is to reduce the search engine spam, so as to improve the quality of search engines.

Nofollow is one of the properties of a link. Which allows one to actualize hotlink like any added hotlink but the basic aberration is that it does not considered in the search algorithm or it does not send out link juice and anchor text will not help it in increasing the rank of the page. Do follow link is just opposite, it do send the link juice and helps in increasing the ranking of the website.

Nofollow are for not crawling a link by search engine. Dofollow allow search engine to crawl links. Nofollow tag we can use if we are using a link for reference not for crawl. Both are good for human traffic.

Dofollow and Nofollow these two links are plays an important role in SEO Ranking Factors that influence the ranking of a particular website in search engine. Here we dig into the actual explanation. If other webmasters give us a backlink to set tag "dofollow", then the link will be considered with Google and improve our site ranking. Whereas, if that other site owners to provide a link to our site using the "nofollow" attribute, it will not be considered by Google and is still on our web site ranking the same as it is.

No follow is an HTML attribute value used to instruct some search engines that a hyperlink should not influence the link target's ranking in the search engine's index. It is intended to reduce the effectiveness of certain types of search engine spam, thereby improving the quality of search engine results and preventing spamdexing from occurring in the first place.

Do follow and no follow term is created by matt cutts who is the quality engineer from Google, this term was basically created for stop the spamming, It is very helpful for webmaster they can give no follow tag to that URL which they don't want to crawled and Google avoids going to that link and the link juice is maintained for that website. If it is do follow link then Google boot follows that link and link juice of that website is distributed for that website.

Hello,

Dofollow Link is a hyperlink that is able to tell all search engines to pass along its page rank influence to an outbound link.

Nofollow Link is exactly the opposite. It is a hyperlink that removes the ability to pass on its page rank status to other sites.

No follow means Google not crawl your links that you posted on other site like in bookmarking or forum posting etc. Because admin of website doesn't want to crawl any other site link. So admin used no follow attributes. while do follow means your site get crawl on other site. and you get some best links from there.   ;)

Do-Follow links pass link juice to your website from the website you get the back-link, it is helpful to increase page rank of your website. There is not any special tag or attribute use to define do-follow link it is normal hyper link.

No-Follow links are not passing any link juice to website. It is only helpful to increase traffic as these links click by users & they will redirect to your website. We use rel attribute to define no-follow link.
