Title: How to remove pages from search engine database
Post by: lillianabe on March 01, 2012, 01:33:14 AM
Certain pages of your website which you don't want search engine to index and display result about can be removed from its database.

You can use Google webmaster tool for adding request of removing specific URL. You can also send request for reconsideration.

Before making request, you need to make sure that the page you want to remove from result, must be blocked by robots. txt. You can use non archive meta tag as well which indicate not to index the page.

Without blocking the page, you wouldn't be able to remove it completely form the result.

You may have to wait until google crawls through your website completely.

Easiest and most used way to remove webpages from the search index of search engine is to put those pages urls in robot.txt file, instructing Search engines not to index.
