Title: RSS Feed Benefits
Post by: peterjack58 on October 04, 2011, 03:03:57 PM
There are two ways webmasters can use RSS feeds to generate more traffic and increased sales - creating your own feed to syndicate your website's content and displaying other RSS feeds on your website. RSS readers aggregate multiple feeds, making it easy for individuals to quickly scan information contained within each feed. Feeds are generally themed, allowing users to opt-in to feeds that are of interest.

Feeds are easy to use and can be a great tool for most web users. However, for those who only visit a few sites regularly, like looking up sites and content or have constantly changing interests. You can gain a lot more views this way in some cases than you can by just posting something up and hoping people find it.

As RSS files are essentially XML formatted plain text, the RSS file itself is relatively easily read both by automated processes and by humans alike. An example file could have contents such as the following. This could be placed on any appropriate communication protocol for file retrieval, such as http or ftp, and reading software would use the information to present a neat display to the end user.

RSS also known as rich site summary or real simply syndication, arrived on the scene a number of years ago, but was only recently embraced by webmasters as a means to effectively syndicate content. RSS Feeds provide webmasters and content providers an avenue to provide concise summaries to prospective readers. RSS allows webmasters to:
1.) Provide fresh and relevant content on their website, which encourages users to return.
2.) Constantly changing content means that search engine spiders will visit more frequently.

RSS feed submission may help in crawling your content but it may cause you duplicate content on your site by which it will cause your decrease in ranking. To avoid this you should not submit your rss feed to different unreliable site.
