When you click the left buttons, the top and left areas do not refresh. The only thing that refreshes is the body of the page. I want to display a background image on my website that works like that. I have 2 questions:

1. Is there a technical term for websites that do this?

2. Is there an example code (in CSS) that does this for background images? Thanks.

Your requirement is not completely clear to me, the much what I understood from it I can say it is not possible to keep a single background image for multiple frames. Your page contains three frames, so if you want to give a single background image then put all the things under one frame.
