Copying a website can be useful whenever you need any of the following things:

• Need to take your webdesign work with you to clients and customers?
• Backup critical information websites on the internet?
• Read websites while being offline, e.g. when traveling?

If you need to help and prove to clients they have a broken website. Some websites may change content (e.g. stuff keywords), add links (which may be broken) etc. depending on user agent, cookies support and other stuff.

However, sometimes clients don't even know about this, and it can sometimes be difficult to prove the problem just by referring to e.g. some link checker software. (Since the problems only show under specific conditions which the customer may not be able to replicate.) In those hard-to-discover and hard-to-solve problem cases, downloading the entire website and showing your clients the results can help.
