WordPress probably scores higher in terms of usability, both from an end user as well as developer's point of view. Joomla is open source solution for CMS (content Management System) which helps you to build Web sites and powerful online applications. Joomla is easy to use and good for extensibility, this made Joomla the most popular Web site software available.

Both are good but it will still depend on the purpose of your site some business owners prefer using joomla and drupal for their e-commerce sites.

Many have tried to push WordPress beyond its intended purpose in an attempt to make an e-commerce or affiliate marketing website. But once you've used the 'free' version for a while, and have got used to how WordPress works.

Joomla is best for creating websites oriented to e-commerce and website requiring a more professional touch. Joomla has thousands of extensions to offer, which are instrumental in increasing the functionality of a website. With its wider flexibility, enhanced features and premier extensions, Joomla to greater extent out beats WordPress.

Joomla's design is very slow but you can design almost all things in the Joomla while in the wordpress is specialized designed for the blogs which means there is lack of flexibility.

Hello...
These are the difference b/w Joomla and wordpress.......

1. User-Friendliness - From the usability perspective, WordPress is definitely more user-friendly than Joomla.

2. Flexibility - WordPress is considered to be a better option when using as blog administering application whereas Joomla is a superior content management system (CMS).

3. SEO Savvy - When you use a WordPress based CMS for your blog or website, it will be search engine friendly your site will rank higher on Google's search results. This is because of the in-built SEO pack that is provided in WordPress admin panel that helps your page optimize according to SEO standards. While Joomla requires some
modifications in order to reap the complete advantages from various search engines.

4. Development of Add-ons - In terms of Add-ons and additional features, Joomla takes the lead from WordPress. As a web designer and developer, you can easily develop additional features using Joomla's development API.

Hello...
Joomla:-
Joomla with all its extensions is better for building a good solid website with all the features you desire. And you can bring it to high rankings in the search engines as well, if you start with the proper technical enhancements.
Templates in Joomla make it easy to get a good layout for the site, and you can find more good free Joomla templates. For a good business website we would recommend to look for a good commercial template based on a Table less design with external CSS files.

WordPress:-
Wordpress is the King of Blogging software, you cannot beat WordPress, especially if you do the right setup, making the permalinks work right through the .htaccess file setup and also setting up the options to /%postname%/. Creating posts and giving it the special keyword tags is really easy.

Templates for WordPress are also very easy to obtain and to implement.
Thnx....:)
